Eco Flex Scheme

Eco flex scheme is the enhanced version of eco4 scheme making more households eligible for home inprovements. Under the scheme vulnerable households could qualify. There are 3 routes you could qualify under the scheme based on your circumstances.

Income-Based Eligibility Using £31,000 Gross Income Cap

The property must have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of Band D, E, F, or G for owner-occupied households, or Band E, F, or G for private rented sector households. The cap applies regardless of the property’s size, composition, or region. Please ensure to complete and enclose the Household Income and Evidence Checklist with the Householder Application Form.

Eligibility Based on Proxies

You are eligible for free upgrades of your heating system if any 2 of the following statements refer to you. The proxies for eligibility are as follows:
  • Proxy 1: Homes in England in Lower-layer Super Output Area (LSOA) 1-3.
  • Proxy 2: Householders receiving a Council Tax rebate (rebates based on low income only, excluding single person rebate).
  • Proxy 3: Householders vulnerable to living in a cold home as identified in the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) Guidance. Only one from the list can be used, and excludes the proxy ‘low income’.
  • Proxy 4: A Householder receiving free school meals due to low income.
  • Proxy 5: A household referred to the Local Authority for support by their energy supplier or any Citizen’s Advice office, after being identified as struggling to pay their gas and electricity bills anywhere across the UK.
  • Proxy 6: Households identified by their energy supplier through energy debt data.

Households with a person suffering from a cardiovascular, Respiratory, limited mobility or Immusuppersion disease.
